Haul Post finally!

Purchases last week

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish, Eye Bright, Brightening Treatment Mask, Deep Cleansing Mask, Intensive Nourishing Mask (Tester) and Spot on Treatment. Ill review these in another post or this one will be a beast. Also a Sleek lipstick, bare all 777, An Urban Outfitters purse and some lush lemon earrings also Urban Outfitters.
My Liz Earle goodies were my monthly treat to myself. You get so bogged down buying ‘essential’ things all the time like food, petrol and car parts that i like to splurge on myself once a month and that usually means im a happy Katie for the rest of the month. Hurrah!

Sleek Lipstick
I am constantly searching for my lips, but better look. I thought i’d hit the jackpot with this little beauty in Superdrug, the tester glided onto my hand perfectly and the colour was exactly what i was after. Feeling incredibly smug i purchased and toddled off home. Went to put it on the next day for work and it was a lot oranger, (possibly darker as well)  than it looked before, still a lovely colour but more one i would wear on a day out rather than to work. Wacked it on my lips and it didn’t glide on as i remembered it felt like it dragged slightly. And it didn’t appear to moisturise my lips as i had hoped. Maybe my expectations were too high and that im going to find my Holy Grail, lipstick of lipsticks kind of thing. Over all i think ill try it again one day when im not going anywhere, im a bit gutted but ill soldier on an buy more lippies im sure.

Urban Outfitters
In desperate need of a new purse, mine had been on its last leggies for a while now so spotted this bad boy at the bargain price of £5! Reduced from £22 and snapped it up straight away. I love it. There’s probably 16 card pockets, a coin place, two bits for your notes and a cheeky little pocket on the front for something (emergency hair clips and plasters mainly). I have this in grey. I like a muted colour purse cause then it matches everything if I decide I don’t want to take out my giant handbag. But the coral colour is beautiful and if it had been a fiver aswel it would have been rude not to have both. Ooh bonus point, my phone fits in there also *big thumbs up*

Earrings aren’t they cute? Nice and summery just like I wanted.

Slightly off topic. My mum and sister went on holiday a few weeks ago and bought my a teddy bear shaped pan as a present. Me and James made pancakes the other day (James did the cooking im too clumsy *sigh* its a hard life) and used lovely mr pan and i just thought you might like to have a looksee....

One very cute, very tasty pancake :)

Glossy Box Review

God Evening everyone apologies for the lack of blogs recently, we’ve changed internet people and it wasn’t as easy as it should have been but hey ho! On with the blog. I recieved my first Golssy Box today tres exciting! Here are my thoughts and whatnot on what was inside!

This is what it looked like when i opened it. How nice is that? Im a sucker for pretty packaging so i was happy at that. Lets investigate insideee...

Inside was:
  • Ciate Nail Enamel
  • Illamasqua Powdered Metal in Ether
  • Orla Kiely Eau de Parfum
  • Ultra Sun Face 30
  • And last but not least Weleda Pomegranate regenerating Body Oil
Excited little puppy indeedy.

First of all the Ciate Nail Enamel in mojito 019 it is a proper pea green colour. Very nice and fresh for the 'summer' months were supposed to be having right now. I loved the colour of this nail polish because i tend to stick to pinks and corals in the summer so this is a refreshing change from those. It went on ok i think you definitely need at least two coats as one was very sheer and you could still see the white of my nail which im not fond of. But if asked i would defo purchase this again.
Left is one coat and right is two coats dried. Sorry about the picture quality my phone is pants.

Numero two Illamasqua Powdered metal in ether. It  says 'powdered metal creats anything from a subtle sheen to an extreme metalic finish on the face and body' which sounds lovely on the body, im not one for shimmery things on my face. Id probably use this on a night out down the center of my legs to elongate them and maybe a touch on the arms and collar bone if i was feeling particularly glitzy. But i dont think i would purchase this product. Swatched below, dabbed on on the right and blended on the left.

3 Was the Orla Kiely Eau de Parfum, this came in the sweetest box ever and with a gorgeous mini flower shaped bottle inside! Im in heaven. Honestly when i first smellt this i wasn't a huge fan. It reminded me of some dodgy perfume i had when i was little. After about 2 minutes when it had settled though! Oh my im in love. Its light, floral, long lasting but not over powering. Ooh ive just read the bit off of the glossy box bit of paper and it has a hint of chocolate. Although i cant smell that yet it is definitely a winning combination in my mind. The bf might have to know about this for christmas (155 days by the way).

Hello Gorgeous box and bottle
Onto the fourth one, this is Ultra sun Face 30 'protects skin from UV induced aging, perfect for face, neck, decollete and hands. Formulated without emulsifiers or oil to reduce prickly heat'  So far i havent used this properly in the sun but i have put a smidge on my hand to see what it felt like and i can tell you that it feels smoothing and soft when you rub it in, almost like a foundation primer? I might have to try that. But so far couldn't tell you about the anti aging effects but it feels lovely to apply. Actually the packaging is a little dissapointing, they could have jazzed it up a bit but i guess you dont but it for the packet.

Last but not least probably my favorite product of the lot. A brand ive never heard of called Weleda. Its their pomegranate regenerating body oil. I absolutely love the smell of pomegranate it is one of my favourite smells after petrol (i honestly dont know why) and perfume. I had a quick soak in the bath then massaged into my damp skin as instructed. It soaked in very quickly and i could get dressed within about five minutes. My skin feels incredible! like no other moisturiser before it its just so soft and silky, i could go on forever but i wont. One point worth mentioning though is that the bf (James if you will) hates my skin after moisturiser because its so greasy, with this one he said 'your skin feels nice, you smell nice too. and your not sticky for a change' That is a complement in his words. Top notch indeed Weleda.

Over all i am absolutely thrilled to bits with my first Glossy Box. Im so pleased ive signed up to it and at such a bargain price for what the products would have been to purchase. £10 for the whole box and the pomegranate oil alone is £19.95. Sign up here ladies http://www.glossybox.co.uk
